Austin Pope

My name is Austin Pope, and I am a professional baseball player in the Arizona Diamondbacks Organization.  I started playing baseball at a young age and have continued to develop my love for the game ever since. Going into my junior year of high school, I was pitching 76mph, but through hard work and dedication, I was able to increase my speed to 86mph and receive a D1 offer to play baseball. Over a three year span, I was a starting pitcher at Fairfield University and played summer ball in the Future’s League and the Cape Cod League. At the end of my junior year of college, I was drafted in the 15th Round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Since then, I have been working hard at playing professional baseball, and I am currently throwing for their AA team, the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
